Progress pic.

Progress pic of the seagrass flats painting I am currently working. Doing research for this one really gets me thinking of all the macro life that is dependent on this ecosystem. Seagrass is a crucial ecosystem to our oceans as they provide food and shelter for larval crustaceans, juvenile fishes, and sea turtles.

And here it is!

I spent all day yesterday in the studio working on this one! Thank you to @cathyjahn for allowing me to paint her Singer Island morning photo.

Dragon’s Tongue now available!

Oil on canvas
24″ x 24″

Looking out across the bay as the sun sets on another amazing day in the tropics while the ocean laps at your feet. The blazing heat of the day subsides to the cool kiss of mother ocean. This work is perfect for reminding us that the ocean will wait for you. Inspired by the photography of Elijah Nishi.

Dabbling with acrylics.

I thought I would dabble a bit in acrylics last night. It was quite frustrating having to work is quicker than I do with oils, but I got the hang of it again. I plan on adjusting colors in the sky by adding more layers, and then I can focus on the reef life!

I am making great strides in building this beautiful Bali reef scene. I plan on adding more blue, pink, and yellow corals as well as TONS of Pacific reef fish. Stay tuned for more updates!
