I absolutely love to swim close to the reef, pause, and watch the energy and excitement of small reef fish. I am trying to capture that same feeling with this painting. I have worked in this one for several months now and feel it is finally coming together!
This painting has been through such a transformation! I changed the sky, added to the waves, and painted a few more fishes to accompany the nurse shark. I still feel there is something it is missing, so I have it hung on my drying wall for now.
I spent hours in the studio working on perfecting my purple brush seafan. I added it to two other paintings that are works in progress as well as this one which was inspired by the photography of Bernd Kullmann. I think it is getting close to completion!
